Bwindi Honey Experience is carried out in the community of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park by Bwindi Conservation for Generations Foundation.
For those that are interested in bee keeping or seeing how our unique Bwindi Honey is made, we offer a honey experience. During this tour you will be taken to some of the hives where our bees are kept. The bees here aren’t captive bred so one of the challenges faced is trying to encourage them to live in the hives that we build and provide for them.
You will get to see how the local hives are laid out as well as learning about the different types of flowers and nectar the bees feed on in order to make our Bwindi honey so special. If the time is right then we can show you how the honey is harvested before being placed into jars. Finally you will be given the opportunity to taste the honey as well as the chance to purchase some to take home with you. Each purchase of honey supports the local community and helps to continue the work around the national park from which it comes.
